Colourlab is designed by Dado Valentic and it is the culmination of a decade long research into color and perception. While traditional Color Science is focusing primarily on various ways of image processing, Colourlab is building on new discoveries in Neuro-Scientific field with focus on the impact that color has on our mind and our emotions.

In addition, to look development, Colourlab is the backbone of a simplified Color Managed Workflow approach. Originally this workflow was reserved only for $100M+ movie budgets but with Colourlab tools and training method, Color Managed Workflow becomes accessible to all.

Up to now, Colorlab was a secret weapon of a small group of 500 top industry professionals. It was responsible for the Look Creation and Color Management of some of the most iconic TV shows, commercials, and feature films.

We are proud to see it now be released to a wider community of Color Grading professional and we would like to welcome you all on our journey. The 1.0 release represents only the tip of the iceberg of what we are to expect in the future.

Our Mission

SIMPLEST AND THE MOST UNIVERSAL SET OF TOOLS FOR CREATIVE COLOR CONTROL AND COLOR MANAGEMENT

We want to empower artists to create and be able to focus on the artistic side of image creation while we take care of the science behind it. Our desire is to make once very complicated image processing method accessible in an instant and much more intuitive.

As humanity is moving away from writing into the visual era of communication, the importance of understanding of color and its impact on viewers emotion has become greater than ever. We will donate 10% of our profits to Digital Natives Foundation that supports the education of 8-12-year-olds in visual storytelling as these skills will be of utmost importance for generations to come.

Designed by Dado Valentic

COLOURLAB IS DESIGNED AND DEVELOPED BY ONE OF THE WORLD’S LEADING COLOURIST AND COLOUR SCIENTIST.

Dado Valentic started as an engineer working for Apple and Sony. Later he founded Mytherapy an award-winning color grading company.  To meet the demands of his clients for always better and awe-inspiring images, Dado had to innovate and very often make impossible possible.
In his work, he did not take the route of the traditional approach to color and image processing. Rather he has taken a different perspective that is focusing on our mind and how we really see. Recent breakthrough advances in neuroscience and neurofeedback have discovered that our brain is the most important part of the human visual system. Building on that research, Dado was able to study, inner mechanisms of our mind and how we can stimulate it to see what we want it to see and the very important link between our visual cortex and our emotions.
Today Dado continues to connect the dots between the latest advances in image processing and neuroscience. He is a big supporter of the thesis that with every frame we are able to encapsulate another layer of information. A deeply rooted and pre-programmed language that we all carry within.
Dado is living and working in Los Angeles. His favorite look is yet to be discovered.
